Never Without You.
It sounds like the title of a Simple Minds song. And that is not a bad starting point to unpick this gem of a song. I don't know why I have never reviewed this band before, Stop Dancing Now was a stand out song. Well, I have been unwell and the world does not stop for my kidneys.
But Never Without You. Listen. The depth of instrumentation - this is a finely crafted performance. I like things messy and whilst I admire quality engineering I am rarely moved by it, but the vocal for this is sublime. All the humanity you need in music is right there is a rich lyric. If I ever go out again, if I can ever dress my best and walk in the world, this is the music I will play as I apply eye liner and adjust my tie.
